Free online typing certificate
The typando typing certificate shows how fast and how accurately you type, online and free of charge. You type a natural text for five minutes, and your result decides the level. Every certificate carries a number that anyone can check online.
The four levels
| Level | Net speed | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 40 WPM (200 characters/min) | 96% |
| Silver | 50 WPM (250 characters/min) | 98% |
| Gold | 60 WPM (300 characters/min) | 99% |
| Platinum | 70 WPM (350 characters/min) | 99.5% |
Only net speed counts: uncorrected errors are deducted. You receive the highest level your test meets. A later, better test earns the next level; the older certificate stays verifiable under its number.
How to get your certificate
You need a free account so the certificate can carry your name. You start the test on purpose. It begins with your first keystroke and runs without the on-screen keyboard. Beforehand, you enter the name that should appear on the document. Right after the test you see your certificate, can print it or download it as a PDF, and can share the verification link.
Want to know where you stand first? Take the typing test with five minutes. If you complete the whole course and reach 40 WPM at 97% accuracy in the final test, you also earn the diploma.
What the certificate is, and what it is not
The certificate is a verifiable proof of skill from typando, not an accredited qualification. Its value is that anyone can check speed, accuracy, and date themselves using the verification number.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does the certificate cost?
- Nothing. The test, the certificate, the PDF, and the verification page are free. All you need is a free account, via an email link or with Google.
- How often can I take the test?
- As often as you like. A failed attempt has no consequences; a few exercises in between usually help more than an immediate retry.
- How does an employer verify my certificate?
- The document shows a verification address and a QR code. There, typando displays the certificate with name, speed, accuracy, date, and number, straight from our database.
